About her

Rodes Phire is a writer-director and former child actor whose creative journey began on screen in Los Angeles and evolved into a lifelong pursuit of emotionally resonant storytelling. She holds an M.F.A. in Screenwriting from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and a B.A. in Theatre from UC Irvine, with intensive acting training from Steppenwolf West. Her upbringing is rooted in the working-class neighborhoods of East L.A. and shaped by her later years in Orange County’s affluent suburbs, this strong contrast infuses her work with a distinct dual perspective: grounded, intimate, and unflinchingly honest.

As a producer, Rodes has shepherded a wide range of feature films, many of which have premiered at top-tier festivals. Her directorial debut, Farewelling, is a cinematic meditation on grief, identity, and emotional reconnection. The film reflects her passion for character-driven stories that explore mental health, familial bonds, and the quiet complexities of human sexual behavior.

Off-screen, Rodes is a dedicated advocate for community and wellness. She sits on the board of AlzOut, a nonprofit raising funds for Alzheimer’s research, and mentors formerly homeless young women through The New Hollywood. Whether behind the camera or in the community, the ethos of is forged from her belief that storytelling can heal, illuminate, and provoke change.
