filmmaker, storyteller and creative partner
Writing about yourself is never easy. Still, this feels like the right place to begin.

I tend to remember the small details that people share with me. The skill their grandmother taught them. Their favorite childhood cartoon. What they love to do on a quiet Sunday morning.

Some might say that the devil is in the details. I believe God is there instead. That's where the magic lives.
I love an uncontrollable laugh and a good uncomfortable one. Songs that make you dance. A child's fascination with the smallest thing, like a rolly-polly crossing the sidewalk.

Stories are how we find one another.
They carry legacy, heartbreak and love all tangled up together, reminding us who we are and where we've been.

If the purpose of life is to make an impact, deeply feel and connect honestly, then filmmaking is how I share what I've felt and how I've move through the world.
My hope is simple - that one person feels seen, feels connected, feels a little more alive.

I was on my way to law school when I had an epiphany. My children were five and seven at the time, and I realized I needed them to know the creative soul within me. I gathered my things and told the partner at the firm where I worked that I was stepping out for a cigarette. She looked at me, confused, and said, "You don't smoke." With tear-filled eyes, I replied, "I know, but I don't know how to quit." In that moment, there was unspoken understanding that i had to choose a different path.

Writing had always been there. Poetic writing. Creative writing. Making up stories with friends. It was a pasttime, a way to endure life and its tribulations. And just as it had saved me before, it returned again, softly whispering, let me take you all the way.

I grew up performing as a child actor, learning early that performance is a beautiful way to convey emotion. To embody the truth of a story with your whole being. As I grew older, performance bled into writing. Writing became imagining. Imagining became worlds. And those worlds needed to become tangible. Actor to writer to director.

I'm drawn to the stories riddled with passion, laced with anxiety, and overflowing with truth. Stories that make you think of your mother, your uncle, or your childhood friend that once stood up for you against all odds.

I love a great first kiss and an intense, everyday one. I love how an actor's glance can carry a piece of the story that only that could tell. I love a happy cry, and the kind you try to hold back.

I love sound and color.
The way composition can build up the emotion in your chest. Soft lighting can make you fall in love.

I love love.
